If God Is God, Then Why Does He Allow It?

The Blind and Mute Man Possessed by Devils (Le démoniaque aveugle et muet) - James Tissot (cropped)

There is a question that basically goes like this…If God is God…then why…does He allow…does this happen?

There are variations to that question, but that is the general sense.

People intuitively know that God is God and that God has all power.

So…why?

The Lord God created the earth and gave mankind free will.

He turned the earth over to mankind.

Psalm 115:16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Therefore, He asks where man’s will is on the issue.

John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

Mark 10:51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

There are other factors as well. For example, there is the issue of faith.

Matthew 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Lest this one blog post become too long, let’s stop there for now. More could be said.
